The Call to Serve!

John 13:1-5 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
2. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
3. Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
4.He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
5. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

Jesus didn’t care if someone mistook him for a servant, and that’s why he was comfortable grabbing the towel instead of the spotlight.  So many people today don't want to do anything for anyone unless they are getting paid for it!  Whether that is being paid by money or the praise and glory of others. We need to embrace the humble attitude of our Lord and Saviour.  Don’t let it bother you to serve, because if you get down of your knees, say, to clean up a spill, you will find Jesus is already there with a wink, a smile and a towel. You’ll find him pleased that you are passionate to serve others as He is to serve you. Just something to think about!

Are you headed in the right direction?

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a expected future.

Isn't it great to know that God has a plan for your life even when you don't have a clue! He has mapped out your every step and all we have to do is just submit to it.  He has made a way out of your mess before you ever get in to it!  So many times we are told that we have to create our own destiny but that just isn't so.  God has already created our destiny all we have to do now is uncover it and live our lives according to it!
You may ask how can I uncover God's plan for my life.  It is very simple!  Read your Bible, Pray, and then obey.  I love the little old definition for the Bible: Basic, Instructions, Before, Leaving, Earth!!!! So today jump into the Word of God and discover what God is saying about your life and just trust and obey Him!!!

Watcha Thinking About?

Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

You know lately I have been observing the way people speak to one another & and the subject of their conversations, and I have also noticed the way they write their thoughts and comments on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc... for all to see.  After having observed this for quite some time there is one thing that keeps disturbing me and it is the fact that 90% of it is complaining, whining, anger, resentment, bitterness and garbage!  The Bible tells "Not to let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen" (Ephesians 4:29).  A lot of what comes out of our mouth is a result of what is in our heart!  Thoughts contrary to the Word make mischief in your heart. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks Luke 6:45.  There is no such thing as a little wrong thought. Each negative thought you give in to makes way for more unprofitable thoughts. They build on each other one by one. Before you know it your thoughts become the very words you speak.

So today I implore you to get into the Word of God, put your mind on the things above!  Let your words be a blessing in your life and in those around you! Then God will get the glory!

Never, Ever, Give Up!

‎2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.So many times we feel as though we can't go on and that it would just be easier to just give up!  But that is what Zig Ziglar calls "Stinkin Thinkin!"  You have to know that your enemy "Satan" wants to get into your head and convince you that life will never get any better. But that is contrary to the Word of God.  The Bible says in John 10:10 that the thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy. But Christ came that they may have life and have it abundantly!  If we believe the lie of the enemy we will surely give up before we see God's promise come to pass.  Don't give up! Keep your head up and don't let up because your best days as a believer are ahead of you!  “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalms 30:5)” Guess what? Joy is here wake up!!!!
